In July 2025, EastAfroSight successfully launched its first projects in Addis Ababa and Arba Minch, Ethiopia.
Inaugural Cataract Surgeries at Kemba Hospital
EastAfroSight held its inaugural event in Kemba district, near Arba Minch, in southern Ethiopia, where residents from the villages of Kemba, Otolo, Maze, and Balta were screened for cataracts. Life-changing surgeries were performed, and vision was restored for many in need.

Donation to Mekedonia Humanitarian Association
EastAfroSight is proud to support Mekedonia Humanitarian Association in their mission to care for Ethiopia’s most vulnerable communities. As part of our ongoing commitment to restoring and protecting vision, we donated 500 reading glasses and sunglasses to Mekedonia’s base in Addis Ababa. These resources will help improve daily living for elderly residents and individuals with disabilities, enhancing both their eye health and quality of life.
